Insurance Provider Partnerships

Connect your insurance data
with fleets that need it most

Velocerta provides a structured, auditable connection between insurance providers and regulated fleet operators — delivering verified coverage status at the moment compliance teams need it.

Our partnership model enables providers to supply policy confirmation data securely, giving operators and licensing teams a reliable source of truth without compromising data governance or customer authority.

Important: Velocerta is not an insurer, broker, or managing general agent. Velocerta does not sell, compare, or arrange insurance products. Velocerta does not hold FCA authorisation as an insurance intermediary. This page describes a data integration partnership model for sharing policy verification data with regulated fleet operators. Any integration is subject to a formal agreement, information security review, and applicable regulatory requirements. Submission of an enquiry does not constitute an offer or agreement of any kind.

A better connection between providers and fleets

Fleet compliance teams check insurance status manually — calling insurers, emailing brokers, and searching public databases. This is slow, error-prone, and creates gaps in compliance records.

Velocerta provides a structured channel for authorised data exchange. When a customer grants permission, their insurance provider can supply policy confirmation data directly into the compliance workflow — reducing manual effort, improving accuracy, and maintaining a complete audit record of every check.

Providers do not need to build consumer-facing tools or manage individual fleet integrations. Velocerta handles the fleet-side workflow; providers supply the data through a defined, governed interface.

Structured data model

A defined, proportionate field set covering policy status, expiry, and cover class.

Customer-authorised

Data is supplied only where the customer has granted explicit permission.

Governed exchange

Every request and response is logged. No data is shared beyond the agreed scope.

Who we work with

The Velocerta partnership model is designed for organisations that hold or manage insurance policy data for regulated transport fleets.

Insurance companies

Underwriters and insurers holding commercial fleet policies who want to provide real-time policy confirmation to fleet operators within their book.

Brokers

Authorised brokers managing fleet insurance portfolios who can supply policy status on behalf of insurers under appropriate data-sharing arrangements.

Insurtechs

Technology-led insurance providers with existing API infrastructure who can integrate rapidly with a well-defined data contract.

Specialist transport insurers

Providers operating in taxi, private-hire, community transport, and commercial fleet markets where compliance monitoring is a critical customer need.

Why partner with Velocerta?

A structured partnership delivers value to providers, operators, and the wider compliance ecosystem.

Reduce manual verification requests

Automated confirmation reduces inbound enquiries from fleet operators checking coverage status.

Improve data accuracy

Direct provider data eliminates transcription errors from manual telephone or email verification.

Maintain data governance

Data is exchanged only with customer authority and within the scope of a formal agreement.

Structured audit trail

Every data exchange is logged and timestamped. Providers and operators can see exactly when data was supplied and consumed.

Differentiate your product

Offer fleet customers a compliance integration that reduces their administrative burden and strengthens their compliance record.

Fast integration path

A defined data contract and multiple integration methods mean providers can connect without building bespoke solutions.

No consumer-facing liability

Velocerta manages the fleet-side workflow. Providers supply data through a governed interface without taking on additional consumer-facing obligations.

Strengthen operator relationships

Fleet operators gain confidence in coverage status in real time, improving their trust in their insurance provider.

Targeted to regulated sectors

Velocerta serves taxi, private-hire, community transport, and commercial fleet sectors — markets where compliance monitoring is a regulated requirement.

Evidence for audit and assurance

Provider data creates a timestamped, attributable compliance record that both operators and regulators can rely on.

Commercial relationships do not affect compliance outcomes. A provider's participation in the Velocerta partnership programme has no effect on how Velocerta evaluates compliance status, processes alerts, or presents data to operators. Velocerta does not alter, embellish, or omit insurance records supplied by providers.

Partnership levels

Velocerta offers four structured partnership levels, from a basic listing through to a fully integrated data connection. Each level is subject to a formal agreement.

Velocerta is not an insurer or broker. These tiers describe data integration arrangements only. No tier confers any insurance or financial services authorisation. Partnership at any level does not guarantee volume, referrals, or commercial outcomes.

A focused and proportionate data model

Velocerta's insurance data model is deliberately limited to the fields necessary for fleet compliance verification. We do not collect premium data, claims history, underwriting information, or personal driver details.

The following fields form the core data contract for policy confirmation:

  • Policy in force — yes / no confirmation
  • Policy expiry date — date the current policy expires
  • Cover class — type of cover (e.g. hire and reward, commercial use)
  • Insured VRM — vehicle registration mark(s) covered
  • Policy identifier — a provider-assigned reference, not the full policy number
  • Data timestamp — when the data was supplied
  • Provider identifier — Velocerta-assigned identifier for the supplying organisation

Commercial relationships between Velocerta and insurance providers do not affect how compliance status is evaluated, presented, or reported to operators or licensing authorities.

Velocerta does not alter, embellish, suppress, or reinterpret insurance records supplied by providers. Data is stored and presented as supplied, with source attribution and timestamp.

Built around customer authority and provider control

Data is exchanged only within a framework of explicit customer authorisation and provider-side governance.

  • Customer must grant permission before any data is requested
  • Permission is recorded with a timestamp and can be withdrawn
  • Providers can set scope limits on the data they supply
  • All requests are logged with actor, timestamp, and purpose
  • No data is shared beyond the agreed scope of the partnership agreement
  • Providers receive a full log of all requests made against their data
  • Data is not used for scoring, comparison, or product recommendation
  • Integrations are subject to information security review before activation
  • Providers can suspend their integration at any time

How the connection works

The partnership process follows a structured onboarding journey for both the provider and their customers.

Provider onboarding

  1. Initial enquiry

Submit the enquiry form below. The Velocerta team reviews your submission and responds within five working days.

  2. Discovery call

A short call to understand your data model, integration capabilities, and regulatory position.

  3. Partnership agreement

A formal data-sharing agreement and partnership schedule is prepared, covering scope, obligations, and permitted use.

  4. Information security review

Velocerta conducts a proportionate security review of the proposed integration approach before any technical connection is established.

  5. Technical integration

API credentials, endpoint configuration, and test-environment access are established. Integration is tested against the agreed data contract.

  6. Go-live

The integration is activated in the production environment. Provider appears in the Velocerta directory at the agreed partnership level.

  7. Ongoing governance

Regular reviews of data quality, request logs, and agreement terms. Any changes to scope require a formal amendment.

  8. Termination and offboarding

Either party may terminate the partnership with reasonable notice. Data is removed according to the agreed retention schedule.

Customer-specific flow

  1. Operator selects provider

A fleet operator identifies their insurance provider from the Velocerta directory and initiates a connection request.

  2. Customer grants permission

The operator grants explicit permission for the provider to supply policy data for the relevant vehicles.

  3. Provider verifies authorisation

The provider confirms the customer relationship and the scope of data they are authorised to supply.

  4. Data exchange begins

Policy confirmation data flows into the operator's compliance workflow. All exchanges are logged with timestamp and source.

  5. Compliance checks run

Velocerta uses the provider data to evaluate compliance status. A not-found result still requires human review before any enforcement action.

  6. Customer can withdraw permission

The operator or end customer may withdraw permission at any time. Data exchange stops immediately and the provider is notified.

Frequently asked questions

Is Velocerta regulated as a financial services firm?

No. Velocerta is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as an insurer, broker, or intermediary. Velocerta provides a compliance monitoring and data exchange platform. Any insurance data displayed within the platform is supplied by authorised insurance providers under a formal data-sharing agreement.

Does Velocerta sell or compare insurance products?

No. Velocerta does not sell, compare, arrange, or advise on insurance products. The platform provides a structured channel for insurance providers to supply policy confirmation data to fleet operators who have granted explicit permission. Operators must obtain insurance through their normal channels.

What data does Velocerta hold about insurance policies?

Velocerta holds a focused set of policy confirmation data: policy in force status, expiry date, cover class, insured VRM, a provider-assigned policy reference, and data timestamp. We do not hold premium data, claims history, underwriting information, or personal driver details beyond what is necessary for vehicle identification.

Does a partnership affect how compliance is evaluated?

No. A provider's commercial relationship with Velocerta has no effect on how compliance status is evaluated, presented, or reported. A not-found result from any provider is treated consistently regardless of that provider's partnership level.

Who can access provider-supplied data?

Provider-supplied data is accessible only to the operator who granted permission, and only within their compliance workflow. Velocerta staff can access data for support and audit purposes under internal access controls. Data is not shared with other operators or third parties.

What integration methods are supported?

Velocerta supports REST API (query and response), webhook and event-driven notifications, and secure file transfer (SFTP) for batch confirmation. For Listed and Confirmation Partners, a manual portal workflow is also available. The appropriate method depends on your tier and technical capabilities and will be agreed during onboarding.

How long does onboarding take?

Timelines vary by integration complexity. A Listed Provider can typically be onboarded within two to four weeks. A Confirmation Partner using the portal workflow typically takes four to eight weeks, including agreement and security review. A full API integration typically takes eight to sixteen weeks. These are indicative timelines and depend on both parties' availability and readiness.

What happens if we want to end the partnership?

Either party may terminate the partnership with reasonable notice as defined in the partnership agreement. On termination, data exchange stops immediately, the provider is removed from the directory, and data is handled according to the agreed retention and deletion schedule. There is no lock-in period at the Listed or Confirmation Partner level.
