How the workflow operates
Velocerta follows a structured, auditable process from vehicle registration to compliance resolution.
- Fleet setup: Vehicles are registered on the platform, either by CSV upload or manual entry. Each vehicle record is associated with the correct organisation and licence category.
- Scheduled monitoring: Compliance checks run on a configurable schedule. Each check queries connected data providers and records the result against the vehicle record.
- Change detection: The platform compares each result against the previous known state. Only meaningful changes, such as a transition from a found result to a not-found result, trigger an alert.
- Alert generation: Meaningful changes are surfaced through the configured monitoring, alert and worker schedule. Alerts are assigned to the appropriate team or individual based on configured notification rules.
- Human review: A responsible member of staff reviews the alert, investigates the underlying change and determines whether further action is required. The platform records who reviewed the alert and when.
- Case management: Where further investigation is needed, a compliance case is opened. Staff can record evidence references, notes and contact activity against each compliance case.
- Resolution and audit record: The case is resolved by an authorised user. Maintain case notes, evidence references and a complete activity history in the audit log.

Velocerta provides alerts, cases and an audit trail. Enforcement decisions remain with authorised human users within your organisation. The platform does not automatically suspend vehicles, drivers or licences.
A provider not-found result does not automatically mean insurance has been cancelled. Every result requires human review according to your organisation's approved procedures.

Is Velocerta connected to DVLA and DVSA?
Velocerta supports authorised DVLA vehicle identity and tax data and DVSA MOT history data. Availability depends on the configured environment and provider access. Source information is displayed with its source and last-checked time.
Does Velocerta automatically suspend vehicles?
No. Velocerta provides information, alerts, cases and audit history. Enforcement decisions remain with authorised human users within the customer organisation. The platform does not automatically suspend vehicles, drivers, operators or licences. This is a deliberate design principle, not a limitation.
Is insurance monitoring available?
Insurance monitoring requires an approved MIB or authorised insurance-provider connection. It is not currently connected. Velocerta does not use or automate the public MIB checker.
